How do the systems work?

Obagi Medical products work by changing the way the skin functions at a cellular level, and so delivering unparalleled results. The Obagi System is comprised of a range of topical treatments developed to address a variety of skin concerns. Each products are designed to fit with other products within their range, also there are no risks of interactions or reactions between two creams.

How long does it take to see results?

The majority of clients start to see results within the first week. They start to notice the skin “plump up”, with improvement of the general integrity of the skin.

It normally takes at least one skin cycle (six weeks) before global changes are seen. Before pictures will be taken prior to commencing treatment, so that clients can compare results themselves. Why not over-the-counter creams, which may be cheaper?

Although over the counter treatments are cheaper, they are no where near as effective. Any treatment which can alter the physical structure of skin must, legally, be prescription only. Hence, over the counter creams, whilst they feel good at the time of application, have no long term benefits, because they cannot make changes to the structure of the skin. Obagi medical, on the other hand, have a wealth of research papers which provide evidence of benefit of the skin treatment.

When considering Obagi medical, one must consider that many clients find they actually save money in the long run, as they no longer need to invest in expensive cosmetics, to cover up problem skin.

Which transformation system is recommended?

The transformation system to be recommended would depend on the condition of the skin prior to treatment, and the treatment objectives. Dr Amina will assess the skin, and may use Observ Skin diagnostics to provide further information as to the skin condition in a range of modalities.

Care following assessment and prescription

Following prescription, you will have “before” photographs taken so that we can monitor your progress. Our aesthetic practitioner will see you following this, to teach you how and when to apply the transformation system, and to organise follow up appointments.
